Peerguardian2 not updating
Development of this title has been discontinued by the original authors, but has been continued by a new team under the name of Peer Block.- This fixes a couple bugs, updates some urls, and adds a new feature:- Update servers will be auto-allowed while updating, and then go back to regular settings (ie if they are blocked) when it's done.this can be turned off via the config file Allow Updates setting, but is not recommended! The aim of its use was to block peers on the same torrent download from any visibility of your own peer connection using IP lists. The Windows version of this program has been discontinued in favor of other applications (Phoenix Labs encourage current Peer Guardian users to migrate to Peer Block which is based on Peer Guardian 2 Development on Peer Guardian started in late 2002, led by programmer Tim Leonard. Not only does this allow you to make modifications or even branch off into your own project, but it encourages peer review of the code making sure any bugs are eliminated swiftly.Because Peer Guardian 2 is Open Source, you can rest assured there are no backdoors or spyware included. But don’t worry, if you’re using KTorrent, you can make use of Peer Guardian’s filters. Next on the sidebar, scroll down and click on IP Filter. KTorrent now will make use of Peer Guardian’s filters.Click on the checkbox next to “Use Peer Guardian Filter”. It might take a minute or two for the list to be loaded and converted to a format KTorrent can understand.
The Peer Guardian developers state they have no control over Bluetack's list, and do not promote or link to alternative lists.
