RSU #34 hosted a regional Teaching & Leading Academy yesterday, with 140 educators learning more about topics ranging from social-emotional learning to technology practices to assessment strategies. Thanks to Education Commissioner Pender Makin for keynoting our event!Additionally, the Minnetonka Public School District wanted to create more secure yet friendly building entryways for students and visiting parents. The entire entry at the Minnetonka High School was torn out and replaced with a two-story glass-filled entryway that “glows like a beacon,” according to Magney.
Interior updates to the Main Lobby and Media Center with new furniture improves the utilization of these areas of the school. This new pub is located in a 110-year-old buildiing with beautiful, original brick walls. The existing brick was one of the many features highlighted in this building fit-out to create a uniquely distinctive pub venue that reflects its roots. The media center will be temporarily relocated to a room down the hall (before ultimately occupying a new space that is currently three rooms in the cafeteria hallway).
The playground is gone while construction on the addition continues.
This is an important step in the budget approval process for our schools and students.
